CRAZY!!

Crazy crazy crazy...

My blog is so so so so outdated...
Sorry peeps, I have been so occupied with life. I think people get bored coming into my blog since there's no update. And I don't think people will realize if I update my blog.... Haha

Anyways, I am working now. Yes, I rejected degree (which many disagreed to my decision), and I accepted the job offer in DST Com Sdn Bhd. I am now the Executive Assistant in RF Network Unit. My job mainly consists of daily monitoring of the 2G system (3G - not really my task). I am still confused, though, with my task. I am not experienced as the others who have worked more than 10 years, so I can't quite catch up. I'm trying my best, though. Sometimes, the stress is too much and I feel like giving up and cry, but I know me - I can't give up, I don't surrender to myself, but sometimes it's just so hard. I guess that's what working life is all about. Coping up with all the difficulties and overpowering them.

I have some other job offers right now, and I don't know what to do about them....

Anyways, I would like to wish all my Muslim friends Happy Fasting, although it's past 2 weeks of fasting. I had some sungkai out with some friends. Of course, the frequent ones were with Athari. Once, Wana and I planned our sungkai at Kaka Indah's house. It was great and we were so so full. Then Kaka Indah's family, Wana & Amzar and Athari & I went to Coffee Zone Kiulap to break the fast. Few days back, Emily, Josline, Dwan and I had sungkai in KB, at Bucaneer's Thai Restaurant. Dwan, Josline , Athari and I plan to go to Tarindak Polo this Friday to break the fast. Hehe..

Last Saturday, I went to Miri City with Athari, Asri, Azam, Chiemz and Fauzi. Our sungkai was at McDonald's. The guys had 2 burgers each. I had one. And we had extra side dish of pizza from Pizza Hut and cheesy wedges from KFC. We were bloated! And some of us bought cakes and ice creams afterwards. Hehe. Miri was fun. It was SALE season, but sadly I didn't bring much cash. Using the credit card was so tempting but NO!!! I ended up buying my expensive mascara (haha) and some magazines. I wanna go there again this weekend, maybe, if I'm not going to KK =)

Work wise - Ericsson treated the RF Unit, Basestation Unit and Switching Unit to sungkai at Tarindak Seni. It was great. I was so full. I had so much food. How can I resist so much variety??? haha.. This Wednesday, Alcatel-Lucent will be treating us to sungkai at Tarindak Seni again, but I think I'll skip this one. but the next day, PAR Corp will treat us at Charcoal! Yeay! I will not skip this =)

Gosh, I think I've gained so much weight, I feel so BIGGGGGGG..

Anyways, another good news of the year..

I will be going to Geneva, Switzerland this October...Yeayy!! Remember few months back, Radi and I sent in our essays in? Sadly, he didn't get chosen, and I am devastated with the decision. I will be going with a UBD student by the name of Donovan. Donovan and I will be representing Brunei in Geneva for the ITU Telecom World 2009 Youth Forum. Yes, we will bringing the country's name into international eyes. Sadly, we are not given any attention by the government. Not to complain though, but if you were to review back to His Majesty's titah last month (I think), this is really a disappointment. I really hope the relevant authorities will do something about this. We are wakil Brunei but we are not given any recognition at all!

Anyways, I will be leaving on the 1st October at 7 pm. I will be transiting in Singapore and Doha, Qatar. From Doha, I will fly to Geneva, reaching there on 2nd October. The forum will begin on the 4th, and ends on the 9th October. I am flying back on the 10th, and will reach Brunei on 11th Oct. So, approximately 11 days away from home.

I have made contact with majority of the youths that will be attending the forum, via Facebook. All of us are excited, but some are having difficulties with visa and those sort. Thankfully, Bruneians don't need visa to enter Switzerland. I am really looking forward to this trip and the event itself. I hope everything will go smoothly. We will be given allowances, and our tickets and accommodation are all paid for. We will be staying at ETAP Hotel Geneva, where it's on twin sharing basis. I don't mind that. Our lunches are all sponsored, but I am not sure about dinner. but, we will be having some events at night, so I think dinner is solved. I think we will be having a trip to visit CERN, and I am very excited for that.

Also, CONGRATULATIONS to Kaka Indah & her hubby & her boys for having a baby girl. I'll visit you soon okay =)

Last weekend, I had a long holiday so I went to KK with my mum to visit my grandma. And to take back lots of tropical fruits since it is the fruit season there. We brought back a bonnet full of durian and tarap. Haha... The smell still lingers in my car... Huhu..

I hope I can update my blog on a constant basis, but I can't promise that I can. So, I'll try my best to do what I can.

Till then, take care of yourselves!

And baby, I love you, as always, now and forever =)

God bless my family, friends, my baby and I.
Amen.

Random Updates

Hello. Gd evening.

I am in a dilemma. First and foremost, I would like to congratulate my ex-coursemates who managed to enter the degree course in UITB, namely:
  1. Shatrina
  2. Norzaniza
  3. Noorhasyimah
  4. Aziman
  5. MK Azmi
  6. Lim Wee Shen
  7. Yani Istora (haha)
We are chosen. Yeay! OK, like I said - I am in a dilemma. I am not sure why, but the feeling of studying back is not exciting me like it did few months back. Lately, the thought of working has been keeping me alive. The thought of earning money has made me so hopeful. I have so much things to buy, that I want. I've even discussed with my mum about the type of car that I want to buy for my dad. I promised my parents that when I work, I will get him a car. And I think of all the shoes and bags and vacations that I can afford when I make my own living. But the images of all the materialistic wants seems to fade away. I haven't been called for any job confirmations. I don't want to put my hopes high in news that said I got some job positions, since I haven't been sent any offer letters. Anyways, I am a little happy that I got accepted into the program. My sister Maya and brother Nicky also got into the HND programs; Maya in Business Management and Nicky in Civil Engineering. Thank you Lord for your blessings.

There are plans for us to rent an apartment somewhere in Madewa with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for the 3 little siblings. Our house in Mumong would then be so quiet during weekdays and bursting with activities during weekends when we go back.
So, my plan now is to enter the degree programme; I am in the 1st degree programme batch, in Communication and Electrical Engineering. If during my study, I am given job offers, I will then have to think very carefully. Many people encouraged me to continue my studies, since it is a rare opportunity. I am just scared to further burden my parents.

Let's just go with the flow =) Congratulations to everyone who got accepted into UITB, UBD and UNISSA.

Next next.. Congratulations to Dk Siti Ariana, who will be graduating from Keele University on 9th July 2009. I think her course was International Relations & Law. She got good results, resulting in her getting to continue her Masters. Your brother and I are proud of you! Last Thursday, I followed Athari and his siblings to the airport to send off Athari's parents. They flew to UK to attend Ariana's convocation. Congrats Didih!

H1N1 is gripping the nation in panic! So far, only one death resulting from the virus was recorded. But cases of infection has numbered to be more than 100, which is serious. The virus is spreading fast. I have some friends who were quarantined. How dangerous it is for us to be mingling around now. It is advised that we use mask while in public, and practice hygiene at any time. To show our support, haha, Athari and I bought masks yesterday afternoon. And when I went back in the evening to get some more, they were finished!

Last month, I had a wonderful weekend in Batu Niah, Sarawak. I was on a church trip and my parents came along. I would like to suggest that we make one trip, a day trip preferably, and visit the caves of Batu Niah. I experience a feeling that I can't quite explain with words. you just have to be there to feel it.

Also, congratulations to Hjh Nana for delivering her second baby on 4th July 2009!

The world was shaken with the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, on June 25th 2009. I still can't quite believe it. Well, I heard the funeral is set for tomorrow, correct me if I am wrong. Rest In Peace, Jacko.

Once again, congratulations to all the people who deserves congratulatory greetings!

Baby, teach me patience...

God bless my family, friends, my baby and I.
Amen.

AE-1P

Good morning people..

I am in a much better mood today =)

Anyways....

I am excited! I found a rare finding (at least, for me) yesterday. I stumbled upon an old camera belonging to my uncle, and since it is long unused, and have been long stored in the cabinet, neglected and long-forgotten, my mum said I can have it.

It is not the digital type, but one that uses a film type of camera. Back to the un-digitalized era! Easily said, it's not a DSLR, just a SLR =D

Anyways, the camera I found is the.....

CANON AE-1 PROGRAM

I find it weird that it's called 'AE-1 Program'. Sounds like a title of a book, or a manual. Hehe. But, in short, it is called the 'AE-1P'.

I did some basic research on the camera, online.

  • Introduced in 1981, AE-1P is an excellent upgraded version of the original AE-1.

  • Considered as one of the two most elegant looking of the A-series bodies.
Yeah.. That's basic.. Haha..

I haven't got any film yet, and I have to replace the battery (not rechargeable!!!). I clean it yesterday, and I think it still looks quite new, actually. It's heavy though! A little bit heavier than my camera, but I think I'll get used to it.

Random...

I am going to Niah Caves next weekend! I hope to enjoy myself, and maybe take some nice shots, and be awed by nature's wonders!

I am also invited to the Manikar Beach Party, which falls next weekend too! It will be from 4.00 pm on 27th June up to 6.00 am on 28th June. I wish I could go, but my Niah trip is all paid up for already. I don't think refund is available. I have been to Manikar Resort, in Labuan. It is really a nice place to relax, and do water sports. Maybe next year. There is a line-up of DJs from various countries that will be there to spin their music. Unfortunately, I can't be there to enjoy the art delivered. Sad =(

Well, I shall not be down just because I can't attend a rare party.. Hehe..

I shall see my baby later. And I am excited!

Have a great weekend people!

God bless my family, friends, my baby and I.
Amen.

Arguement

Ola...

I have a story - one that happened yesterday, 18th June 2009.

Here goes...

I went to BSB with my brother, Nicky, in the morning. He had an appointment at C Y Lim Clinic in Gadong at 9 am. We left KB around 7.30 am. Anyways, as most people I know would already be aware - I am a fast driver. I hardly drive slow, only under some circumstances. And yesterday is one where I would speed up, especially in the highway.

So. there was this car, a Ford Ranger (I think) that was also fast. It was driven by a man, maybe in his late 50s, and he was accompanied by his wife. At one point, my car was behind his car, on the right lane, and we were both fast. But I felt he was a bit slow, and since the left lane was empty except for a Corolla far infront, I overtook him by going into the left lane. He didn't want to slow down either. I got the chance to go infront of his car, so I signalled and went in front of his car. Unfortunately, the Corolla earlier suddenly changed lane, from left to right, without warning (no signals). I had to press my brake pedal to avoid hitting the Corolla from the back, and the Ford driver behind me had to slam his brakes too.

I think he was mad that I slammed my brakes, that he gave me emergency signals and highlighted at me. I gave no attention. Things like this happen in the highway everyday. The Ford uncle eventually followed me all the way to BSB. I thought that it was just my imagination that he was tailing me, but indeed, he was tailing me. So I led him around, from Gadong traffic light, up to the huge roundabout, then through the traffic light in Kiarong. On the stretch of road from Kiarong to BSB, he overtook me, but stayed by my side. He did not want to go infront of me. He pinned my car to the side, without hitting my car, though. He came out of his car and then opened the passenger door and shouted at me. Fcuk! I was stucked since I couldn't open my door. I was thinking of just slamming my door into his car, but I though wisely.

Fortunately for me, there was this police officer that saw he pinned my car to the side. He came and parked infront of my car. He went to the shouting uncle, and asked him to remove his car, since it was disturbing the traffic flow. He did, and I went out of the car, slammed my door and walked fiercely (haha...) towards the men....

(Below is the argument I had with the uncle, at the side of the road. I know I was so kurang ajar, but he is, too)

Yani: Apa hal kan kita ani? (Shouting...)

Uncle: Ko pandai drive kah? Yang ko trus2 masuk dpn keta ku?

Yani: Sapa suruh kita lambat? Kalau tau diri atu lambat, pakai lane kiri!

Uncle: Ko brake mengajut! Ko membahayakan kereta2 dblakang!

Yani: It's not my fault! Keta dari lane kiri tiba2 change lane, ndakan aku inda brake!

Then, police officer interrupted and asked the uncle...

Police: Kita kan buat laporan di balai polis?

Uncle: Inda, aku saja kan mengajar ia. Tanya ia pandai drive kah inda...

Yani: Kalau kita kan buat laporan, buat pulang. Aku inda takut. Aku tau aku inda salah. Ku lawan kita balik!

Police: Bah, kita berdua selesaikan cara luar saja, cara baik.

Yani: Bah, KALAU aku salah, aku minta maaf, tapi aku tau aku inda salah.

Uncle: Ko patutnya inda berpikir pasal dirimu sendiri, ko mesti pikirkan org lain jua.

Yani (dlm hati...) : Kalau ko pikirkan org lain, inda ko kan bubut aku jua, pakcik. Sensitive jua. Kalau inda pandai drive cara org drive di highway, jangan tah drive! And inda ko asak2 kan kerita mu sebelah kerita ku!

I was so mad! He keep blaming me without putting any blame on himself. I swear that if his wife went down to side him, I will piss her off and urgghhhhhh!!!!

I have never been this angry all my life, and I have never been this rude to any elderly. But this man does not deserve my respect, so I don't care if anyone thinks I am being dispectful and rude. No matter he is older than me, related to me or what (I have a feeling that his wife might be related to me), but such man should not be entertained! Feeling that he knows everything, and that he is the right one, you can rot in h*ll... Haha.. I am so evil, but I cannot contain my anger.

I feel that I was my 'most bad' yesterday, that I was swearing that he gets an accident. I am sorry. If I ever see him in the highway, I will tail him!!!!!!!

I am evil at this moment. Hehe..

I'll be normal later...

God bless my family, friends, my baby and I.
Amen.

The Many Happenings

Hello people!

I have alot to blog about actually, since there were many things & events that happened since I last blog =)

First & foremost, I would like to wish

SELAMAT PENGANTIN BARU
Semoga berkekalan ke anak cucu!

Congratulations Aly & Emi on your wedding on 7th June 2009.
Both of you looked stunning!

Next...
Interviews interviews!
I haven't been to many interviews actually - just a few.
To share.......................

Department of Technical Education
I went for interview at DTE Gadong the afternoon of my convocation day, so I was in a rush after the convocation ceremony in ICC. There were 5 other ITB graduates who were interviewed on the same afternoon, but they were all from CIS dept. And they were still in the white convocation attire, while I was not.

So, I was the first who got interviewed, since I was the first to arrive at DTE. They were 8 interviewers, all of which are the principles of the technical and vocational schools in Brunei. I was asked so so so many questions and I was very happy that I answered all of them (but I wasn't very sure of my answers, which sucks), and I was happy to have gone out of the interview room. Haha. It was quite an experience. I have yet to hear from them =)

TelBru Berhad
I went for an interview at TelBru HQ in Berakas on June 4th 2009, at 2.00 pm. Athari accompanied me there. There were 7 people who got interviewed that afternoon.

There were 2 posts that was available, which I am not very sure what. I met 4 girls from ITB, who just graduated with HND in Computing. The other two was unknown to me since they didn't talk to me. So I was the 5th person who got interviewed eventhough I came second that day, so I have to wait while the others got interviewed. But I got the chance to ask others what questions came out, so it was OK to wait.

So, it was my turn to enter the room. There were 4 people there, 2 males and 2 females. I find it stupid to panic before that since the interview session went very very well. And I absolutely love the session. I was asked about my attachment, and since I was doing my internship in TelBru, I was giving good impressions =) Interview lasted around half an hour, which I think was the longest among the others. We had lots of laughter and discussions. It was good =)

DST Com
Woo...Quite a number of us were called to an orientation in DST. We were abit confused when the caller said 'orientation'. How could there be an orientation when we were not yet interviewed?! Anyways, Mimit, Azmi, Radi, Bong, Shatrina from Intake 22, and Diana, Rudey, Fifi and Jamal from Intake 21, and of course, I, went to the orientation. Firstly, we were briefed by the HR manager, and we were given different coloured ribbons and balloons.

We had an ice-breaking session where we need to blow our balloons, and we need to ask everyone in the room for their names, and what they see themselves as in 15 years. These info were to be written on the balloons. So, we all went around asking people these questions. In the end, those who got around 27 names and above were send to the front to be presented in front of the audience ( I am one of them!).

After that, we were divided into groups, according to the job positions we chose in our DST forms. I chose RF Network Engineer as my 1st choice, along with Bong, Shat, Fifi, Jamal and 3 other non-ITBians : Lokman, Hj Azmin and Zaki.

Anyways, we were given a task which we need to present infront of all the audience. Our task, if i remember correctly, was to give solution proposals to handle a situation whereby a village is cut off all primary communications due to flooding, which in turn causes landslide and cuts off all communication.

So, my group - Bong, Fifi, Hj Azmin and I did discussions and give out ideas. Our ideas which I jotted down on our big white presentation paper were:
  • Use of another cell's transmitter signals
  • Backup power such as solar power& batteries
  • Increase height of transmitting equipments
  • Use of a mobile transmitter
  • Installation of an alarm system to detect incoming flood
We were the first group to do the presentation, and after watching all the other presentations, I must admit that out group was the best presenting group! Haha.. We left after all the presentations were delivered.

Few days after that, I was called and was asked to come for an interview (finally) at DST HQ. All those who applied for RF Network Engineering were present. The format was quite different, and interesting. 4 people were to enter the room at the same time, and the first four persons was Lokman, Fifi, Hj Azmin and Shatrina. After they came out of the room, the rest of us went in.

There was six interviewers - 3 from RF Network Dept and 3 from HR Dept.
It was scary since the head of RF Network told everyone that he got so many questions to ask me! Hehe. So we were asked to introduce ourselves. The great thing was that all of them were not so strict and scary. they were funny, and understanding and very open in our discussions.

It is the weirdest interview I have ever been to, but it was alot of fun, and they make all the interviewees feel happy and calm. I went out of the room felling all happy and good. And I rode up the elevator up to 13 floor in a glass lift! Scary shittt...

Phewwwww.... Stories of my interviews, which sadly, I haven't got any call from... Soon soon... Positive!!!!

Anyways, baby I miss you......

God bless my family, friends, my bay and I.
Amen.
